Britney is no stranger to me considering we spent our junior year in college as roommates.  She went to NC State while I was studying at Meredith College. We met through a mutual friend and while she did host a toga party in our apartment as I was studying for a macroeconomics test, we became pretty good friends that year.  :)  

I totally bombed that test by the way!

The great thing about Facebook is that even though we haven't seen each other in years, I always keep up with how her and her family are doing.  When she contacted me to take family pictures, I was more than thrilled to see her and meet her family for the first time!  Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

Baby Harper, 7 days old

Newborn sessions are still fairly new to me, and contrary to what many may think, they are the hardest to capture compared to other types of sessions.  The best time to take newborn pictures is during the first 10 days of life.  During that time, the baby will most likely sleep through all of the posing.  I got my camera on Harper on day seven, and she proved to be quite the sleeper and poser. :)  But before I show you Harper, you should meet the "big" sister, Lainey (20 months).

I know...are you thinking that Holly is supermom too?  Meet Lainey. She was a little camera shy, but she warmed up later by wearing my shoes around the house.

As Carolina fans, the blanket color is no coincidence. I love pictures of little girls that are not always the typical "girly" colors!  Here are a few of the shots I got of Harper.  Enjoy :)

2012 Easter Photo Sessions

Last weekend, I spent my Saturday in Jamestown, NC (my hometown) for three Easter sessions.  The first two were family sessions and the last was an annual neighborhood Easter egg hunt event! Take a look at a few highlights from the day!

 

Zinn Family Session

Perhaps I'm biased, but I love little boys.  They have such an energy about them!

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to meet a pretty incredible kid. Jake, who just turned seven, and his mom, Jamie, wanted pictures that represented Jake's energetic personality. So after talking with them, I suggested a skater and graffiti theme. I've really wanted to do something like this but had been waiting for the right clients! Jake was definitely the one! The biggest challenge was finding the right location, but when we found it, it was perfect! As a side note, Jamie was totally accommodating to the fact that I changed the location literally 30 minutes before our session!  As another side note, many thanks to my husband who was the one who found the new and better location and served as our personal security guard for a portion of our session.  :) 

Not only did Jake show off his adorable smile, but he showed off his super cool skateboard tricks as well! I had a true blast with this session. I love when I can do different kinds of photography, and this was definitely a high point so far for me! Enjoy a few pictures and the slide show!

Princess Mabel, 11 Weeks Old!

This past weekend, I got to spend time with another beautiful baby girl. Mabel is 11 weeks old and is the prized possession of my best friend's sister.  Even as a preemie, this little princess was strong as ever and ready for the spotlight from the moment I got my camera out!  Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

Baby McKenna, 3 Weeks Old!

What a treat to meet another newborn this past weekend!  McKenna, three weeks old, was alert and ready to go when I got there.  Apparently the party was too much for her, and she never really fell asleep for long.  But I still managed to get some great shots of her!  What I really enjoyed about this session was snapping photos of the parents just doing their thing--which is loving on their beautiful little girl!  Here are a few of my favorites from the session!
